In Response Most newspapers have a section entitled "Letters to the Editor . " These letters are written by readers in response to articles that have appeared in that newspaper . A person who writes a letter to the editor expresses an opinion either agreeing or disagreeing with the ideas of the article . 1 Read each of the "Letters to the Editor" * to find out which issue all the writers are responding to . 2 What problems relating to the issue are raised in the letters ? * Although these are fictitious letters , they express a variety of opinions about the issues raised in the article .
