Listen and number . Have students point to and identify as many items as they can . • Ask students : ● What do you see in the picture ? Where are Tommy and Zoe ? ○ Which way are they going – left or right ? ○ What time is it ? ○ How many [ people, clouds, gems, animals ] do you see ? ○ Encourage students to answer in as complete of a sentence as they can , adding in ● adjectives as they are able . Repeat the students’ responses in complete sentences to enable students to hear ● proper sentence structures . Have students listen to the audio and number the picture according to what they hear . ● Play the audio . ● Audio : Number 1 : [ Liam ] : Welcome to the New Mexico desert ! There is so much to see here . Number 2 : [ Zoe ] : It is so early in the morning, and it feels hot already ! Number 3 : [ Liam ] : Late at night, it gets very cold in the desert .
