136 1 . Pre - reading activity Unit 5, Part 1 : Brazil Rainforest Layers * The rainforest has four layers . Each layer has different trees, animals, and light . שכבות / طَبَقاتٌ - layers * אור שמש / نورُ ٱ لشَّمْسِ - sunlight * הגבוהה ביותר / اَلْأَْعْلى - highest * עכבישים / عَناكِبُ - spiders * תחתונה / اَلسُّفْلى - bottom * The Emergent Layer is the highest * . The trees are ver y tall and get a lot of sunlight * and strong winds . Macaw parrots * , harpy eagles, bats, and some insects live here . They fly or live high in the trees . The Forest Floor Layer is the bottom * layer . It is ver y dark, hot, and wet . On the ground, we can find leaves and fruit that fall from the trees . There are also spiders * , turtles, and small animals that crawl and hide in this layer .
