Getting Ready Section Task : Departure Writing a guidebook entry about a destination country This section takes a look at different types of trips abroad . You will choose destination country that best suits your personality and tastes , collect information and write a guidebook entry about that country . An Ideal Vacation 1 Read how three teenagers describe their ideal vacation . What do you learn about each person from his or her description ? JLl ] "My idea ofthe perfect vacation is to see the exotic and unusual . 1 would try to plan a vacation that included hiking , cycling and camping . I wouldn't mind traveling alone , because that would give me the chance to meet new people . But if I were in countries where women don ' t normally travel by themselves , I might decide to travel with someone else . I would probably avoid popular tourist sights . Instead , I would try to find places that no one knows about . I can't afford to spend much money , so I would have to travel on a tight budget and sleep over at camping sites . " bjj "Ifl could spend a week doing anything 1 wanted , I would pick a place on the seashore . My idea of a great time is lying on the beach and hanging out with my friends . I enjoy being outdoors , and I especially like scuba diving . I would probably spend most ofmy time reading , diving , playing beach games and eating . I would not use a travel itinerary —I hate following schedules . For me , traveling means doing what 1 want when I want . I am not the type of person who follows tourist guidebooks and I ' m not really interested in seeing famous sights . But 1 wouldn't mind spending a day or two visiting the local town . " M "To me , the best vacation would be visiting the famous sights that I have seen on television or read about in books . I can't imagine going to London and not seeing Buckingham Palace or Big Ben . I can understand why people like exploring the unknown , but I prefer sightseeing . Before the trip , I would look at a few travel guidebooks and make a list of all ofthe tourist attractions I wanted to see . I can ' t stand missing something if everyone else is talking about it . I remember being in Paris as a young child . I loved visiting the Eiffel Tower , so I would probably like to start there , then I'd go on to see the clothes in the smart stores . Think of a destination in the world where you would expect to find your teenager .
