Section Task : Perform ! Presenting a short talk about a song In a group of 3 or 4 students , choose a song to present to the class . 1 . Collect the following information : ? the name of the song and the performer / group ? the style of music in which the song is written ? what the song is about ? what you like or dislike about the song ? how the song compares with other songs by this performer / group ? any background information that you think is interesting 2 . Prepare the lyrics of at least one stanza to hand out to the class . Get a recording of the song to play to the class . 3 . Submit a summaryof your planned talk to the teacher for feedback . 4 . Based on the feedback from your teacher , make corrections to your summary and prepare your talk . 5 . Present your talk to the class . During your talk , play the song or part ( s ) of the song to the class . The class should follow the lyrics while listening to the song . Your group will receive general feedback from the other students in the class based on the criteria below . 6 . The teacher will assess your summary and the talk given by you and your group on the basis of the assessment criteria in the rubric on £ 2 E & 71 . The following checklist shows what you should have in your completed task . ? We prepared the lyrics and made a recording of the song for the class . ? We gave information about the song's performer ( s ) . ? We described the musical style of the song . ? We explained what the song is about . ? We played relevant parts of the song to the class .
