Project : Preparing and Presenting an Oral Report Your project is to prepare and present an oral report on a fictional superhero , on an invention that has made a mark on the world , or on a person whose the actions have made a mark on others . Choose one of the booklet sections focus of ^^ your project : superhero , invention , person-community , person-person . You may base your report on the task that you prepared for that section . You should collect additional information for your report . Q Choose the topic and get ready . ? Choose a booklet section that you would like to focus on . ? Make a list of the kind of information that you need to find or that you need to add to your completed section task . ? Make a list of sources where you could find that information . 9 Collect information . ? Look for information on the Internet or in the library ( from encyclopedias , newspapers , magazines , etc . ) . Keep a list of your sources . ? Collect pictures and other images ( diagrams and graphs ) that will help to present your topic clearly . Q Organize information . ? Select the most relevant information . ? Depending on your project topic , you may be able to add the new information to your section task and use this as part of your report . ? Divide the report into sections , based on the main points . ? Select information that introduces the topic in an interesting way . ? Write a conclusion that summarizes or illustrates the main points of your report . ? Choose the pictures and images that help to explain the main points of your report . Q Get ready to present . ? Prepare note cards for each of the main points , using the cards on page 37 as models . ? Practice presenting your report . ? Present the report to the class . ? Use your note cards to guide you . Try not to read your notes but to " say " your points . ? Speak clearly and make eye contact with the audience . ? Show and refer to the pictures and images while you are speaking .
