inary Heroes 1 Read the following adapted extracts to find out more about the story . Narrator ? I'd sneak away from the orphanage and run excitedly to the record store . ? After a while I could write a poem and go back into the rain . ? It was really quite all right to be a funny Indian kid who secretly wrote poetry . Music Lady ? The music lady with high cheekbones used to smile , pat my head and encourage me . ? She didn ' t seem threatening as I noted her light brown hair and the openness of her arms held still at her sides . ? Mrs . Smith asked what I was writing . She sounded like she was really interested and not just pretending to be nice . 2 What can you tell about the two main characters from the sentences on page 40 and the above extracts ? Use a table like the one below and answer in your notebook . 3 What can you tell about the relationship between the narrator and the music lady ?
