Section Task : Carry out Preparing cue cards for a game Prepare a "Guess the Invention" game . You and a partner form a team . Together , choose a number of inventions and prepare a cue card about each . Your opposing team will use the clues on each cue card to work out what the invention is . The object of the game To use as few clues as possible to guess the invention . The team that scores the most points by making the most "high score guesses" wins . How to prepare the game 1 . With your partner , decide on six inventions . Each one of you prepares the cue cards for three inventions . 2 . Use an encyclopedia and / or the Internet to get infonnation about each invention . 3 . Each cue card you prepare should give five important clues about the invention . Write one sentence for each clue , using the cue cards on page 27 as models . Use the passive if necessary . 4 . On each cue card , organize the information so that the more difficult clue is first and the easiest clue is last . 5 . Label the number of points each clue is worth : the hardest ( first ) clue is worth 5 points and the easiest ( last ) clue is worth 1 point . 6 . Call one team's set of cue cards Set A and the other team ' s set Set B . Label each of your team ' s cue cards appropriately . How to play and keep score 1 . Play in two teams of two players each . 2 . Take turns : one team gives a clue and the other team tries to guess the invention . 3 . Points are won in the following way : a team scores 5 points for a correct guess based on the hardest ( first ) clue , 4 points for a guess based on the next clue , etc . 4 . A wrong guess does not earn any points . How to assess the game You and your partner , and the two partners on the opposing team , will assess the game using the rubric on £ Z JLlSSj 71 . Use the following checklist before assessing the game . I enjoyed playing the game . The choice of inventions ( Set A / Set B ) was original . The information presented in the cue cards ( Set A / Set B ) was relevant . The clues in the cue cards ( Set A / Set B ) were clearly presented . The clues in the cue cards ( Set A / Set B ) were logically organized for the game ( from hardest to easiest ) .
