She wishes she had a nickname . She wishes her friends wouldn ' t say her name in such a strange way . She wishes she could change her name . The above examples express two ideas : ? Esperanza ' s dissatisfaction with the way things 3 ^ in her life ; ? how she would like her life to be . Wish sentences like those above refer to wishes in the present but 3 ^ said or written : wish .. + past form of verb or wish . + would / could + base form of the verb Answer in your notebook . 1 What else does Esperanza wish ?
