Booklet Page 13 : Film Festival Movie Summaries Finding Nemo : This animated film is about a little clownfish named Nemo . His father , Marlin , is overprotective ever since Nemo ' s mother and siblings were killed . Nemo rebels and this leads to disaster : the little clownfish is captured by a diver and taken to a fish tank in a dentist ' s office in Sydney , Australia . Marlin starts out on a dangerous journey to save his son . Marlin and his friend Dory , a fish with a short-term memory problem , face many obstacles along the way . E . T . the Extra-Terrestrial : At the heartof this heartwarming family film is the relationship between Elliot , a 10 year-old boy , and an extra-terrestrial ( alien ) he finds in his garage . Elliot and the extra-terrestrial ( E . T . ) develop an extremely strong bond , and they begin to share each other ' s feelings . Elliot begins to understand that E . T . must go home , and that the Earth is making him sick . At the same time , adults want to capture E . T . for scientific research . The second half of the film shows Elliot ' s efforts to send his friend home . Trains , Planesand Automobiles : In this comedy , Neal , an advertising executive , is trying to get home to Chicago for Thanksgiving . His flight has been canceled because of a snowstorm , so he must find other ways to travel . Neal finds himself together with Del , a loud-mouthed salesman , and the two end up sharing a taxi , train , truck , car - even hotel rooms - as they try to get home . Del doesn ' t seem to mind , but Neal isn ' t very happy with his traveling companion . The Wizard of Oz : In this musical fantasy , Dorothy and her dog Toto are carried by a tornado from her home in Kansas to the mysterious Land of Oz . On her journey to get home , she meets a scarecrow , a tin man and a lion , who are all searching for something , too . Dorothy and her friends face many obstacles on their way - including a very wicked witch and her flying monkeys . Kabhie Kabhie : In this musical drama , the young poet Amit and the beautiful Pooja are in love - but life has other plans . Pooja follows her parents' wishes and marries Vijay . Amit tries to leave poetry and Pooja behind and marries Anjali . A generation later , the two couples' children come together , and a chain of events brings the old lovers together as friends . The Endof the Golden Weather : A drama about Geoff , a 12 year-old boy growing up in New Zealand in the 1930 s . He becomes friends with Firpo , a strange and magical person who dreams of winning an Olympic medal . Together , the two begin a close friendship as Geoff tries to help Firpo achieve his goal . However , Geoff s family and community soon begin to work against this childhood dream .
