About Magic Jack Melvin was born in in Cincinnati to Bob Jackson , a jazz and Wanda Jackson , an art teacher . Melvin has two , Mark and Robert . At age 10 , Melvin began to learn how to play the guitar . At 15 , he got together with three friends to form the music group , The Chairs . At age , Melvin and The Chairs appeared on stage for the first time . The group split up one year later , and then Melvin joined a rock group called Two years later , Melvin left the group to go 6 7 This is when he changed his name to Magic Jack . The first of Magic Jack ' s songs to hit the radio , "Secret Life , " became a top 40 At age , he married model Sharon Rockwell . The couple have a twoyear-old daughter , Ella . When not touring or recording , Magic Jack donates his time to his favorite charity group , Let ' s Feed the World . 8 .
