Waiting for th 3 Hurricane & ud 9 i 11 AD 3 a 33 n ] 9 Jii Section Task : Carry out Preparing and role-playing a TV interview Scenario : A hurricane may strike your area , somewhere along the south-east coast of the United States . The hurricane is expected in the next day or two . Roles : TV interviewer mayor of a town in the area person from the weather service Work in groups of three and prepare and role-play a TV interview about the hurricane . 1 . Each student should choose one of the above roles . 2 . Add details to the above scenario . Use information from this section of the booklet . 3 . Look over the information in your scenario and make a list of 6-8 questions that the TV interviewer would ask . 4 . Organize the TV interviewer ' s questions in two groups : ? Questions to the weather person , asking for information about the hurricane ? Questions to the mayor , asking about plans to protect the town and its people 5 . Build the other two roles by writing the answers to each group of questions : ? Answers by the weather person ( the weather person ' s role ) ? Answers by the mayor ( the mayor ' s role ) 6 . Write out the TV interview . Include sentences to open and close the interview . Read it over , make corrections and add questions if necessary . 7 . Practice the role-play . Make more corrections if necessary . 8 . Submit the written interview to the teacher for assessment . Each student in the group should have a final copy of the interview . to 9 . Role-play the TV interview to another group . Use the record the average scores given by the group . ^ ^ 10 . Assess another group ' s role-play .
