Activity Interactive Periodic Table The Periodic Table – Metals and Non-Metals 1 . Choose on the button labeled Metals / Non-metals at the bottom of the screen and look at the classification of the elements into metals and non-metals . In your notebooks , write a few more examples of metals and non-metals , besides those already mentioned in the book ( at least two of each ) . 2 . Click on the State button and study the classification of the elements by their state at room temperature . A . What is the state of most metals at room temperature ? B . Which metal is exceptional ? What is its state ? C . What can you say about the state of the non-metals ? Most of the elements known to us are metals . In the periodic table , the metals are located in the center and on the left . Most of the metals are good conductors of electricity and heat , they have a silvery sheen and they can be worked . At room temperature most of them are solid . The non-metals are the elements on the right side of the periodic table . They are poor conductors of electricity and heat , they do not have a silvery sheen and they cannot be hammered into shape .
