Atoms are the most fundamental building blocks of all matter . Some substances have particles that are atoms of different kinds ; other substances have particles that are molecules * – combinations of atoms that have become bound together . All matter in the world is made up of atoms . The particles of matter may be atoms of different kinds or molecules . Question The following figures show particles of various substances in the air . In your workbook , draw a table and sort the substances according to the type of particles they are made of ( atoms or molecules ) . Molecule – two or more interconnected atoms .
